John Bauries
- Corporal
John Bauries was my grandmother's brother. He entered the enlisted in 1863 and mustered out in August 1865. He was stationed mostly in the Washington DC perimiter durung the war. His brigade the NY 16th was the one that hunted down John Wilkes Booth, on Garrets farm, after he assinated Lincoln in May 1865. I have determined John died in Chelsey Mass in a soldiers home around 1895. He is buried in Boston. I had the VA provide a monument for his grave.
